Bad Cholesterol: A Myth and a Fraud!
By F. Batmanghelidj, M.D (Author of “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water”)
We in the medical profession, totally oblivious of the vital roles of cholesterol in the body, have been duped into thinking that it is this substance that causes arterial disease of the heart and the brain. The pharmaceutical industry has capitalized on the slogan of "bad cholesterol" and has produced toxic-to-the-body chemicals that minimally lower the level of cholesterol in the body and in the process cause liver damage to thousands of people, some who die as a result of using the medication.
It is surprising that none of the frequently quoted and media-popularized doctors has reflected on the fact that cholesterol levels are measured from blood taken from the veins, yet nowhere in medical literature is there a single case of cholesterol having caused obstruction of the veins. Venous blood moves far slower than arterial blood and thus would be more inclined to have cholesterol deposits if the assumption of "bad cholesterol" were accurate. This mistake by us in the medical community, and its capitalization by the pharmaceutical industry, has caused an ongoing fraud against society.
In truth, the so-called "bad" cholesterol is actually far more beneficial than is appreciated. The reason for its rise in the body is because of complications caused by chronic unintentional dehydration and insufficient urine production. Dehydration produces concentrated, acidic blood that becomes even more dehydrated during its passage through the lungs before reaching the heart – because of evaporation of water in the lungs during breathing. The membranes of the blood vessels of the heart and main arteries going up to the brain become vulnerable to the shearing pressure produced by the thicker, acidic blood. This shearing force of toxic blood causes abrasions and minute tears in the lining of the arteries that can peel off and cause embolisms of the brain, kidneys and other organs. To prevent the damaged blood vessel walls from peeling, low-density (so-called "bad") cholesterol coats and covers up the abrasions and protects the underlying tissue like a waterproof bandage until the tissue heals.
Thus, the vital, life-saving role of low-density cholesterol proves this substance is of utmost importance in saving the lives of those who do not adequately hydrate their bodies so that their blood can flow easily through the blood vessels without causing damage.
Cholesterol is an element from which many of our hormonesare made. Vitamin D is made by the body from cholesterol in our skin that is exposed to sunlight. Cholesterol is used in the insulating membranes that cover our nerve systems. There is no such a thing as bad cholesterol. If all the primary ingredients are available for its normal functions, the human body does not engage in making things that are bad for its survival. Until now we did not know water was a vital nutrient that the body needed at all times – and in sufficient quantity.
Water itself – not caffeinated beverages that further dehydrate – is a better cholesterol-lowering medication than any chemical on the market. It is absolutely safe and is not harmful to the body like the dangerous medications now used. Please share this information with those you care for.

Living Bodies Need Living Food!
By: Donna Butler
As you begin to research this field of “natural” health you will soon find out that it is not just going to the doctor with symptoms and then having him write out a prescription for the ailment. In order for our bodies to function the way they were designed we have to begin to go back to the natural way of living. By this I mean that we must begin to really examine the foods we eat, why we eat, what we do etc.
I know in this “fast food” society that we live in it is very hard to focus on menus or planning but you will find that “natural” fast food is not only very satisfying and equally “fast” but it is nutritionally superior to anything else we could possibly eat! What is faster than grabbing some baby carrots, or eating an apple? (Scroll to see the picture below…)
Using natural progesterone is a great start, but as Dr. John R. Lee, M.D. states in his book “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause” (Chapter 19, page 279) when we provide an optimum environment our bodies are remarkably resilient and capable of healing themselves and restoring balance. Diet and exercise also play a very important part.
If you really want to get serious about losing weight and eating better then I highly recommend the book "EAT TO LIVE" (Click for more info). It is authored by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, a board certified family physician. He specializes in preventing and reversing disease through nutrition and natural methods.
In addition to Happy PMS Natural Progesterone Cream, the products that I have used and found to be most helpful in my journey toward better health are Al Carter's Organic Cell Food™ , Kyolic Garlic, B-12 Sublinqual Tablets, and Coconut Oil. See the picture below – it speaks for itself!
Why Not Smoke a Pack a Day!
By: Mr. E. John Reinhold (*This article was taken from HELPING ONE ANOTHER the official Newsletter of The Christian Care Ministry (the Aug./Sept. 2003 issue).
If you polled the average non-smoker and non-drinker and asked them why they don’t smoke or use other forms of tobacco, what kind of answers would you get? What would be your answer? I think most responses would regard reasons of health. How do we reconcile our attitude about tobacco use with carrying additional pounds and gluttony? Gluttony is eating in excess, or more than we need.
Last year 300,000 Americans committed suicide with a knife and a fork. That many died of diseases directly related to obesity, not many short of those smoking a pack or more a day. Millions of Americans ran up tens of billions of dollars in bills for treating the inevitable fall out from carrying too many pounds. To list a few:
• Back aches • Arthritis • Pain caused from feet, ankles & knees being crushed under extra pounds • Circulation problems • Headaches • Sleep issues (apnea, restless sleep, insomnia • Digestive Issues • Stones • Regurgitation • Irregular heart beat • Shortness of breath • Clogged arteries • Skin disorders • Hemorrhoids • Diarrhea • Constipation • Accidents due to losing balance or inability to react • Diabetes 2 • Hypertension • High cholesterol • Respiratory problems
What is the issue here? Our entire lives are being governed by the first ¾ of an inch of our tongues, the taste buds. Do you believe the food industry is concerned about your nutrition? They are concerned about sales and sales are directly affected by how something tastes. Whether you are disabled due to eating their products or go to an early grave is probably of no concern to them as long as direct toxicity is not a factor.
So now we have attorneys encouraging “victims” to come forward and sue the fast food crowd and the advertisers for making them fat. We scoff at the smokers who blame big tobacco companies for causing their cancers. Oh my, do you mean to tell me that cigarettes cause cancer? Why didn’t someone tell me? Hello! Oh my, do you mean to tell me that if I eat too much and make bad choices about what I put in my mouth that I am going to have to pay the piper? Hello!
There are many reasons why we choose to overeat and choose to eat foods that cause disease and destroy life. The point is that we must come to a point where we say…. enough! I am not going to go on like this. I have decided today that now is the time to change.
Constipation’s Cure
By: Dr. John Evans, M.D (*This article was taken from HELPING ONE ANOTHER the official newsletter of The Christian Care Ministry (Ask the Doctor column page 5).
Americans are among the most constipated people on the face of the earth. Why would this be so? Constipation lies at the foundation of many of our chronic diseases, and its cure could become the road to recovery for many people.
The lack of adequate fiber in our diet is the basis for this problem and the solution to this very prevalent chronic condition lies not in the pharmacy but in the food. Explore with me the cascade of diseases that chronic constipation either contributes to or produces:
| Hemorrhoids | Diverticulosis | Diverticulitis | Spastic colon | Gallbladder disease | Varicose veins |
| Elevated cholesterol | Irritable bowel syndrome | Colon cancer | Prolonged bowel transit time | Obesity – Stroke | Coronary Artery disease |
All of the above are either produced by or increased by constipation!
How could this apparently innocuous condition be associated with such a variety of diseases? Let’s explore…
When there is insufficient fiber in the food that we eat, the volume of our stool content goes down and the time that it takes for material to go through our intestinal tract goes up. This is termed – transit time. When the transit time is prolonged – carcinogens (cancer producing substances) and other irritants lie in contact with the bowel wall for an extended time period and produce irritation and contribute to cancer formation. The bowel has to contract more strongly in an effort to move a small amount of material through the tract. This produces local spasm – and spastic colon disease is the result. Prolonged transit time allows the normal bacteria to produce more gas and increased gas in the colon increases the pressure on the veins that come from the legs, and varicose veins result.
Internal bowel pressure dilates the area in the colon adjacent to blood vessels and diverticulosis is the result. Infection in the diverticulosis produces diverticulitis. Slow transit time allows for the reuptake of cholesterol and this in turn produces gall bladder disease and more artery disease with its attendant heart disease, peripheral vascular disease and stroke.
Can you begin to see the importance of preventing constipation?
Prevention is quite simple – adequate fiber intake – in foods eaten and adequate intake of water. Fiber containing foods are readily available in fruit, vegetables and whole grain breads and cereals. There is virtually no fiber in eggs, cheese, milk, beef, pork, poultry, fish, white flour products, sugar, honey, syrups, mayonnaise, oils and salad dressings. One of the best sources of fiber is in large quantities of cooked dark green leafy vegetables – which speeds the transit time, decreases the reuptake of cholesterol, diminishes the bowel spasticity, increases the caliber of the stool, diminishes the time that carcinogens are in contact with the bowel wall, lowers the pressure on the leg veins and aids in the prevention of obesity and its attendant woes.
Come join me at a table filled with delicious foods – fresh fruit, fibrous vegetables and whole grain breads and cereals. Lots of water between meals rounds out my prescription for your return to normalcy and a bigger smile on your face.
Acrylamide: What Is It, and Which Foods Contain It?
By Ben Kim, D.C.
For me, the most fascinating segment of Morgan Spurlock's documentary on McDonalds, called Super Size Me, involved the man who has become famous for eating almost nothing but Big Macs since 1972. Don Gorske is the Guinness world record holder for number of Big Macs eaten, having passed 19,800 Big Macs as of June, 2004.
Don has eaten anywhere between 2 and 9 Big Macs per day, almost every day since 1972, and yet, his height-weight ratio and blood tests indicate that he is in relatively good health.
What I find particularly interesting is that he reports almost never eating French fries. This is in line with my personal belief that French fries are the worst item on the menu at fast food restaurants. Sure, coca cola, processed cheese, and factory farmed meats aren't much better. But every ounce of those crunchy, salty, tasty fries are so harmful to health that I wouldn't be surprised if several years from now, the government and general public come to view French fries the way that we view cigarettes today.
What's so bad about fries?
They are loaded with trans fats, known to cause immune system depression, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, sterility, birth defects, decreased ability to produce breast milk, loss of vision, and weakening of your bones and muscles.
French fries are also high in acrylamide, a carcinogen that is found in starchy foods that have been fried or baked at high temperatures.
The World Health Organization first began to look at the dangers of acrylamide in 2002 after the publication of a study in Sweden that linked acrylamide consumption with cancer. Since then, independent studies in the United States, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, and England have confirmed the link between acrylamide consumption and risk of developing cancer.
A few months after the original report out of Sweden, The Center for Science in the Public Interest in Washington, DC did its own study on the acrylamide content of the most common starchy foods in the North American diet. Their results were as follows:
|
Food |
Serving |
Acrylamide (mcg) |
|
McDonalds French Fries, large |
6.2 oz. |
82 |
|
Burger King French Fries, large |
5.7 oz. |

KFC Potato Wedges, Jumbo |
6.2 oz. |

|
Wendy’s French Fries, Biggie |
5.6 oz. |
39 |
|
Ore Ida French Fries (baked) |
3 oz. |
28 |
|
Pringles Potato Crisps |
1 oz. |

|
Fritos Corn Chips |

1 oz. |
6 |
|
Boiled Potatoes |
4 oz. |
less than 3 |
|

0.12 (EPA limit) |
Put another way, the amount of acrylamide found in a large order of French fries at a fast food restaurant is at least 300 times higher than what the Environmental Protection Agency allows in a glass of drinking water.
“I estimate that acrylamide causes several thousand cancers per year in Americans,” said Clark University research professor Dale Hattis. Hattis, an expert in risk analysis, based his estimate on standard EPA projections of risks from animal studies and limited sampling of acrylamide levels in Swedish and American foods.1
If you were watching the news wires last week, you may have read that on June 16, 2005, the California-based Environmental Law Foundation filed notices with the state of California's attorney general against:
- Lay's potato chip maker PepsiCo Inc.
- Pringles maker Procter & Gamble Co.
- Cape Cod potato chip parent Lance Inc.
- Kettle Chips maker Kettle Foods Inc.
California law requires that companies warn their customers if their products contain known carcinogens. And acrylamide is listed by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment as a chemical known to cause cancer.
The Environmental Law Foundation says that their most recent tests indicate that these potato chip brands "far exceeded the levels requiring warning labels under California law." Specifically, they noted that "Cape Cod Robust Russet potato chips exceeded the required warning level by 910 times, while Kettle Chips Lightly Salted chips exceeded the level by 505 times."
Regardless of how this most recent legal battle goes, we are already well aware of the strong link between acrylamide consumption and risk of developing cancer. Please remember that raw or boiled potatoes test negative or very low for acrylamide. Acrylamide is formed in substantial quantities when starchy foods are fried or baked at high temperatures.
This means that French fries and potato chips are two of the deadliest foods that you can eat. So the next time that circumstances lead you to McDonalds, do yourself a favour and be like Don Gorske. Have a Big Mac and skip the fries. Better yet, have a salad from their lighter choices menu.

Body Odor 101
By: holistic author Mike Adams
"This article touches on a subject that's quite sensitive to many people: body odor. Here, we explore the link between the foods you choose to consume and the odor produced by your body (there is a direct correlation). With all the hundreds of millions of dollars spent each year on personal care products and deodorants, I'm amazed there's almost no discussion about reducing body odor by changing your diet. In fact, when I've mentioned this subject to some people, they look at me in bewilderment. They ask questions like "What do you mean, your foods control your body odor? Body odor is genetic!" — or some other nonsense. What they need is a crash course in the underlying causes of body odor. We'll call it The Fundamentals of Offensive Personal Odors, or just Body Odor 101, for short.
Lesson number one in Body Odor 101 is that what comes out of your body reflects what you put in. Body odor is something that's strongly affected by what's being emitted by your sweat glands. And remember, armpits are designed to sweat. I know that may sound insanely simple, because everybody knows that armpits sweat, but I'm saying that armpits are supposed to perspire. Yet people go to great lengths to prevent their armpits from sweating using deodorant products containing toxic chemicals and derivatives of heavy metals like aluminum.
But there's more to it than just cooling your body temperature through perspiration — another function of the sweat glands in your armpits is to excrete toxins from your body. That's why sweating is an important part of maintaining optimum physical health. You have to give your body a chance to get rid of various toxins through a variety of metabolic processes. Those include urination, passing fecal matter, exhaling carbon dioxide and other toxins through the lungs, and, of course, eliminating toxins through the skin. The skin, remember, is your body's largest organ.
Your armpits, then, actually have an important health function in getting rid of toxins. That's why you need to keep them open and unclogged by deodorant products. Sweating is good for you.
But what about the odor? Where does that really come from? Conventional doctors like to say it's due to bacteria living in your armpits. But that's ridiculous: our entire bodies are covered with bacteria, not just our armpits. And if the bacteria alone were the cause of the odor, you could eliminate body odor by sterilizing your armpits with rubbing alcohol or iodine tincture. (Try it, if you like: it still won't eliminate the odor.) The real cause of armpit odor is the intentional excretion of horrible toxins that your body is trying to get rid of. And by using deodorant products, you block the exit door and force those toxins to stay in your system!
The way to eliminate body odor, then, is not to mask it with unhealthful deodorant products, but rather to clean up your body from the inside out. In other words, if your armpits have a horrible raunchy smell, that's an indication your diet needs some adjusting. I'm embarrassed to say that I know this from personal experience. My own body odor used to be rather disgusting when I followed the standard American diet like most people do. I had to use massive doses of brand name deodorant products just to try to cover up the odor. Only later did I learn that those products are made with cancer-causing chemical fragrances that are absorbed directly into your bloodstream, through your armpits, where they enter your liver and promote liver disease, cancer, and a variety of other disorders.
Many deodorants and antiperspirants are made with aluminum in order to halt the perspiration of your sweat glands, and this aluminum is suspected of accumulating in the nervous system and ultimately contributing to nervous system disorders such as Alzheimer's Disease. That's why I no longer use any brand name deodorants or antiperspirants. After giving up red meat, junk foods, fast foods and other dietary atrocities, I no longer needed deodorants anyway.
Foods that make you stink
Let's take a closer look at the causes of body odor. What foods really cause body odor in the first place?
Red meat is the number one cause of body odor. Red meat causes stagnation in the body; it putrefies in the digestive tract and releases all sorts of toxins into the bloodstream through the large intestine. I've noticed that people who consume a large quantity of red meat on a regular basis tend to have much stronger body odor than those who avoid it. Some people tell me just the opposite — they say it's vegetarians who stink because they run around wearing no deodorant whatsoever. But my experience is that if a vegetarian stinks, they aren't following a healthy diet even though they are avoiding meat. (You can be vegetarian and extremely unhealthy if you consume a lot of processed foods.) Overall, though, if you find a healthful vegetarian and put them side by side with a heavy meat eater in a sniff test, I'm confident your nose will lead you to the conclusion that the meat eater is the most offensive of the two. It's weird science, yes, but we are talking about a strange subject to begin with.
As far as other foods that cause body odor, manufactured foods — those lacking fiber and made with refined white flour, added sugars, hydrogenated oils and other processed ingredients — are the big culprits. When you eliminate these from your diet and shift to a 100% healthful diet made of whole grains, massive quantities of leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, soy products (I, Donna, don't personally agree with him about the soy products), supergreens, lots of sprouts, raw nuts and seeds, healthy oils and other similar healthful ingredients, your body odor will all but disappear in a matter of weeks.
That's because a plant-based diet is an internal deodorizer. It's true: the chlorophyll and other phytonutrients will cleanse you from the inside out. Some of the best foods for that include parsley, cilantro, celery and all mint species. The aromatic herbs are also excellent: sage, rosemary, thyme, oregano, and so on.
As a sidebar to the body odor discussion, all the things that come out of your body are strong indicators of your current level of health, as well as what adjustments you need to make in order to be healthier. It's interesting to note that for hundreds of years, physicians actually tasted the urine of their patients and were able to make medical diagnoses by taste analysis alone. As bizarre as this sounds, it actually makes good sense. The human tongue is perhaps the finest natural chemical composition sensor known to modern medicine. (Dogs' noses are also good at this. Dogs have actually been trained to sniff out bladder cancer by smelling the urine of humans. Just search google for articles on "bladder cancer dogs sniff" and you'll find lots of references to this fact.)
After tasting the urine, skilled physicians were able to offer astoundingly precise medical diagnoses. The problem, of course, is that doctors also tended to become ill from tasting their patients' urine, and so this practice fell into disfavor long ago.
By the way, just to be clear here, I'm not at all suggesting that you should be tasting your own urine. But it's very easy to smell your own armpits and get a sense of what's going on. Try going 24 hours with no deodorant. If you can't stand the smell from the outside, just imagine what your body smells like on the inside! Maybe it's time for some plants in your diet, ya think?"
Cancer Risks Linked to Ritalin
Almost 30 million prescriptions for Ritalin and similar drugs to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were written last year in the United States; 23 million were for children. While these drugs are among the most widely prescribed medicines in the world, they also remain one of the most controversial.
The latest chapter in the debate over the safety of ADHD drugs: The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) investigation regarding a link between Ritalin and cancer — based on a small University of Texas study.
The findings showed damage to the chromosomes of 12 children who had taken Ritalin for three months.
And while the Texas researchers claimed their study was far too small to prompt the parents of attention deficit patients to abandon Ritalin and may contain some methodology flaws, the FDA, National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Environmental Protection Agency found the results merited public concern and further study.
A grant proposal is in the works at the NIH to fund a much larger probe in 2006, involving many more patients and a variety of drugs.
Labeling Changes?
The news about Ritalin's possible link to cancer comes in juxtaposition with another health issue surrounding the class of ADHD medications known as methylphenidates, to which Ritalin belongs.
In fact, the FDA has been considering labeling changes to all methylphenidates due to potential psychiatric events and cardiovascular side effects. A previous review uncovered:
· Thirty-six psychiatric events (such as hallucinations and suicide ideation) for Concerta, compared to 16 for Ritalin and other methylphenidates.
· Concerta had 20 cardiovascular event reports; other methylphenidates had four.
Some critics, however, believe labeling changes may not be the answer.
According to the director of the child and adolescent psychiatry clinic at Jackson Memorial Hospital and an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Miami School of Medicine, labeling is an oversimplification of the problem and doesn't address the many other problems that are affecting the outcome.

Eight of the Best Foods for Your Health
By Ben Kim, D.C.
Here is a list of eight of the healthiest foods you can eat:
Leafy Greens
Romaine lettuce, red leaf and green leaf lettuce, spinach, kale, collards, Swiss chard, turnip greens, and bok choy provide an abundance of vitamins and minerals, particularly folate, vitamin B6, iron, calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Leafy greens are also high in several different antioxidants and chlorophyll, which help to lower the risk of cancer, heart disease, macular degeneration, and cataracts.
Broccoli
Broccoli contains indoles and sulforaphane, both cancer-fighting substances. Broccoli is a healthy source of fibre, folate, vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, coenzyme Q10, and carotenoids. The nutrients found in broccoli make it a great food for building healthy bones and protecting against birth defects and cataracts.
Avocado
Avocado provides high quality fat, essential to keeping your cells healthy and strong. It's also a good source of vitamin C, folate, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin E, fibre, and potassium. Avocado is also an excellent source of lutein, an antioxidant that helps to promote healthy eyes, skin, and blood vessels. Finally, avocado is a good source of glutathione, one of the most important antioxidants to your health.
Blueberries
One of my personal favourites, blueberries provide antioxidants, natural anti-inflammatory compounds, fibre, folate, niacin, magnesium, iron, riboflavin, and salicylic acid. Blueberries are excellent for preventing cardiovascular disease, cancer, cataracts, and macular degeneration. If you have problems associated with regulating your blood sugar and insulin levels, it is important to limit your consumption of blueberries to about a cup per day.
Pomegranates
Ounce for ounce, pomegranates are one of the most concentrated, healthy food sources of antioxidants. They are also lower in sugar than many other fruits, making them a good choice for optimal blood sugar and insulin levels.
Coconut
Like avocado, coconut is an excellent source of healthy, raw fat, much of it saturated. Saturated fat helps to impart strength to your cell membranes. The fatty acids in coconut are easily used for energy and can help to speed up metabolism. Coconut is high in lauric acid, which helps to promote healthy intestinal flora.
Walnuts
Walnuts are an excellent source of protein, fibre, potassium, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. They promote healthy blood chemistry and reduce the risk of heart attack, diabetes, and cancer.
Organic Eggs
Organic Eggs are power packed with healthy protein and fat, vitamins A, D, B12, B2, niacin, and folate. They also contain lutein and zeaxanthin, antioxidants that reduce the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. Organic eggs provide choline, a nutrient that is essential to normal cell structure and function and proper signalling between regular cells and nerve cells.
Cod Liver Oil
Although not technically a whole food, cod liver oil is the best single source of vitamin A, vitamin D, and two long chain fatty acids called EPA and DHA. These nutrients promote and support:
- A strong and healthy cardiovascular system, particularly a healthy heartbeat and clean blood circulation
- A healthy brain and nervous system, especially important if you suffer from depression or other emotional disorders
- Excellent night vision
- A balanced and strong immune system
- Strong bones and teeth
- Healthy joints, particularly helpful if you suffer with arthritis
- Healthy skin and mucosal linings, including the lining of your digestive tract
A Simple And Highly Effective Cleansing Routine
By Ben Kim, D.C.
Now that autumn has arrived for those of us in North America, I thought I'd share with you a simple detoxification routine involving apples that you can follow without making any major changes to your daily routine.
Here's what you do:
Eat nothing but apples – any variety you like – whenever you are hungry, from the time that you wake up to the time that you usually have dinner.
For dinner, you can have what you usually have. But it would be best if you could have your dinner meal consist of at least 50% green vegetables.
Here are a few examples of optimal dinner meals:
Example A
Steamed broccoli
Brown rice
Avocado
Healthy Dressing
Example B
Steamed kale
Quinoa
2 organic eggs, scrambled
Healthy Dressing
Example C
Steamed asparagus, spinach, and green peas
3 ounces of wild salmon
Healthy Dressing
If you find yourself looking for a snack later on at night, go back to munching on apples.
That's it.
Many people who have followed this detox routine on my recommendation have reported losing unwanted weight, feeling more energetic, having clearer skin, and just plain feeling better than they have in a long time.
And because this routine will supply your body with healthy calories whenever you are hungry, the detoxification effects will not be so abrasive that you will have to take time off of work or from your daily routine to get extra rest.
Another beautiful feature to this routine is that you can benefit from following it for one day, several days, or even a few weeks.
Just one note of caution: if you have high blood sugar or any problems related to your blood sugar regulating mechanisms, you may want to substitute the apples with non-sweet vegetables like lettuce, celery, tomatoes, and cucumber. And of course, before following this or any other detoxification routine for more than a few days, it's prudent for you to consult with a health care provider who can provide you with personalized guidance as you seek to get healthier.

Control your Cholesterol levels the natural way!
Here are 7 easy ways to keep your cholesterol levels in check:
- Eat more of these! The greatest natural cholesterol lowering food are apples, followed by bananas, carrots, beans, pumpkin seeds, garlic, grapefruit and olive oil.
- Fiber is your friend! Dietary fiber acts like a claw and literally pulls cholesterol from your blood. Your best fiber foods are barley, brown rice, fruits, oat bran and oatmeal.
- Drink carrot juice! Carrot juice helps to flush out excess fat from the bile and lower cholesterol.
- Use cold-pressed oils that have never been heated above 110 degrees during processing – above that temperature enzyme destruction starts. Cold pressed oils are good fats that will aid digestion and improve over-all heart function.
- Almonds, almonds, almonds! Raw, unsalted almonds have been shown to cut cholesterol in as little as a month. Eat them every day and keep the doctor away.
- Reduce saturated fat including all animal protein which is the #1 culprit for high cholesterol. (Try to use meat as a garnish, rather than as an entree!) If you choose to eliminate it, don't worry about getting enough protein. There is loads of protein in fruits and vegetables combined with beans, tofu, rice and almonds.
- Drink Water. Water itself – not caffeinated beverages that further dehydrate – is a better cholesterol-lowering medication than any chemical on the market. It is absolutely safe and is not harmful to the body like the dangerous medications now used. Please share this information with those you care for.
